Born in Norway, Victor now lives in a converted power station in Exmouth where for the past twenty years he has continued to produce his signiature blue stoneware.
He makes his own glases and achieves his special effect by glazing with one light blue glaze over a dark blue base glaze.
Victor Holst's background is technical, but his interest in ceramics began when he was living in Cape Town, South Africa. He was 'bitten by the bug' and this bug refused to leave.
His production is not art for arts sake, his pieces are intended to be used. Well - the large platters do look nice on the wall!
