Pam Pebworth RWAPam Pebworth RWA

Pam Pebworth has exhibited with us for many years. She worked in a textile studio in Manchester before training as an artist/teacher at Bath Academy of Art in the early 1950's. She worked as an art teacher for twenty years but in 1988 she went to West Dean College to study wood engraving.

Pam works on boxwood or lemonwood end-grain blocks. The engraved block is printed on Zerkell paper using a small Albion press. Her main source of inspiration is usually architecture, buildings, towns and villages, sometimes in composite style so that she can re-arrange the buildings to show many aspects of a place in one picture.

Her work is widely displayed and is in the permanent collection of the Royal Albert Memorial Museum of Art in Exeter. She is a member of the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) and the Society of Wood Engravers with whom she exhibits her work in their annual touring exhibition.
