Jane Poulton studied Textiles and Fashion at Manchester Polytechnic, specialising in Embroidery. After she completed her BA she continued her studies with an MA in textiles at the same college.
As an established illustrator, textile designer and lecturer Jane has already developed an enviable reputation in the design world. She is also well known for her small embroideries and paintings in mixed media. Her work is often figurative, featuring garden creatures, animals and birds. The scale of her work enhances the intimacy of the subject matter and the overall feeling of the piece - the titles often show the subtle humour Jane enjoys.
Her work is included in corporate and public collections such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, The Royal Exchange Theatre and Heathrow's Sterling Hotel. Her paintings and embroideries have been exhibited at venues such as the Contemporary Textile Gallery, London; the Vicoria and Albert Museum and the South Bank Centre, London.
