Alistair Grant was an experimental painter and printmaker, specialising
in silk-screen, lithograph and etching, often blending mediums to create pieces.
Grant
was born in London, where he then studied at the Painting School of the Royal
College of Art, graduating in 1950 – he returned only five years later as a Printmaking
tutor. He became the Head of Department in 1970, and was made Professor in
1984.
Grant
sadly passed away in 1997 but leaves an extraordinary legacy as both
an artist and teacher.
