This one is an actual urban myth about the popular folk etymology that asserts that the place name comes from a mishearing of the name Infanta de Castilla. Mychael spent some time drawing vistas in Elephant and Castle and decided to create a composite of some of its current features.
This series encompasses varying takes on the term urban myth. They range from popular London urban myths and famous legends or people to deconstructed classical mythology in urban settings. They employ a variety of processes including drypoint, etching, aquatint, spit-biting, sugar-lift and carborundum and are all printed on tea-stained Japanese gampi chine-colle.
